Hajj 2025: Banks Open on Weekends for Application Submissions and Payment Collection

To assist Pakistani citizens planning to perform Hajj 2025, designated banks across the country will remain open on Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, 2024. This special arrangement will facilitate the submission of applications and the payment of dues for the Hajj pilgrimage. As per a circular issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), bank branches will operate from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM on these dates.

Hajj Application Process & Payment Details

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has designated 15 banks nationwide to handle Hajj 2025 applications and collect payments. The application period is from November 18 to December 3, 2024. Approximately 179,210 Pakistanis will perform Hajj under the government scheme next year. The cost of performing Hajj will range between Rs 1,075,000 and Rs 1,175,000.

  • Advance Payment: Pilgrims must submit an initial Rs 200,000 with the application.
  • Balloting Payment: A second payment of Rs 400,000 is required after selection via balloting.
  • Final Payment: Remaining dues must be paid by February 10, 2025.

Refund Policy for Cancellations

  • In case of cancellation, the first installment will be refunded after a Rs 50,000 deduction.
  • Failure to pay the third installment by the deadline will result in a Rs 200,000 deduction.
  • No refunds will be issued after February 10, 2025.

Increased Compensation & Special Provisions

  • Compensation: The compensation for the heirs of deceased pilgrims has been increased from Rs 1 million to Rs 2 million.
  • Hardship Cases: 1,000 seats are reserved for pilgrims facing financial difficulties.
  • Low-Income Workers: 300 seats are allocated for labourers and low-income employees registered under the Employees Old-Age Benefit Institution (EOBI) or Workers Welfare Fund.

Road to Makkah & Hajj Organization

  • Road to Makkah Facility: The Islamabad and Karachi airports will offer the Road to Makkah facility, ensuring smoother travel for pilgrims.
  • Hajj Group Organizers: These organizers must sign a service agreement with the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which will be closely monitored to ensure quality services for pilgrims.

New Administration and Hajj Management App

A new system has been introduced to enhance the pilgrim experience. Each group of 100 pilgrims will be assigned a Nazim (administrator), selected from welfare staff. Additionally, a Hajj Management App has been developed to assist pilgrims, offering helpful resources and facilitating communication.

Key Dates for Hajj 2025

  • November 30 & December 1, 2024: Special bank hours for Hajj applications.
  • February 10, 2025: Final deadline for all payments.

This structured approach aims to make Hajj 2025 an accessible and well-managed experience for Pakistani pilgrims.
