At least 45 Indian pilgrims were tragically killed when a bus carrying Umrah devotees collided with a diesel tanker near Madinah, Saudi Arabia, early Monday morning. Authorities report that several victims are from Hyderabad, Telangana.
The Telangana government has confirmed that it is coordinating with the Indian Embassy in Riyadh to support victims’ families and assist in urgent relief efforts.
Accident Details
Preliminary reports indicate that the accident occurred at around 1:30 am IST in Mufrihat, approximately 160 km from Madinah. The pilgrims were returning to Madinah after completing Umrah prayers in Mecca.
According to Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, the bus carried a group of 46 pilgrims. Only one passenger, Mohammad Abdul Suyaib, survived and is currently receiving treatment in the ICU at Saudi German Hospital. The deceased have been moved to a local hospital for further processing.

He also emphasized proper medical treatment for any injured survivors.
