Case Filed Against Dattatray Ramdas Gade
Pune police have registered a case against Dattatray Ramdas Gade, who is accused of sexually assaulting a 26-year-old woman inside a state transport bus at the Swargate Bus Stand on Tuesday morning.
How the Incident Unfolded
Swargate, one of Maharashtra’s largest transport hubs, witnessed a shocking crime when a woman waiting for her bus was lured into an empty vehicle by the suspect.
The accused misled the victim, claiming her bus was parked elsewhere. He then convinced her to step inside a parked bus by suggesting she use a torch to check for passengers. Once inside, he locked the door and assaulted her.
Victim Reports the Crime, Police Begin Investigation
After the attack, the woman took another bus to her village. Following a friend’s advice, she filed a police complaint.
DCP Smartana Patil confirmed that an FIR has been registered, and police teams are actively working to arrest the accused.

Investigations reveal that Datta Gade has a history of criminal activities, including theft and chain snatching.
Police Assure Swift Action
DCP Smartana Patil assured that the victim is stable, and the police are making all efforts to track down and arrest the suspect. “We are working tirelessly to ensure justice is served,” she stated.
